The Professorship
Professor (commonly abbreviated as Prof.) is an academic rank at universities and other post-secondary education and research institutions in most countries. Literally, professor derives from Latin as a "person who professes". Professors are usually experts in their field and teachers of the highest rank. A professor is the highest academic title held here at our university.
Professors are accomplished, recognized academics, and usually considered experts in their areas of concentration in post-secondary education. A professor teaches upper-level undergraduate classes as well as graduate courses. They are also likely to be involved in leadership positions in their department and conduct ongoing research in their fields.
